Flood victims at Ocean Plaza still treat burns
The flood in the Ocean Plaza shopping center on January 13 led to the hospitalization and outpatient treatment of many visitors and shopkeepers. During the accident on the heating main, when the building was flooded with boiling water, people could not get out on their own and found themselves in a hellish trap. One of the victims who commented on the situation was the security guard of the shopping center, helping people get out of the building.
The guard of the shopping and entertainment center Nikolay in his arms carried out a girl who nearly died in hot water. She was an employee of one of the stores. As a result of the incident, the girl did not receive injuries and has already returned to work.
“She apparently didn’t understand that it was boiling water. She started screaming in pain. I somehow grabbed her in my arms and carried her,” Nikolai told TSN in a comment.
He also added that on average the level of boiling water was 10-15 centimeters.
"Many people screamed. We could not figure out where the screams came from. Everything was in a fog," the man said.
Nicholas's selfless help to visitors and employees of the mall led to serious injuries – burns to the arms and upper parts of the feet. Now he is being treated at home in Mariupol.
