About this with reference to the movement "For Truth" writes Znak.com.
Earlier, the Latvian prosecutor's office sent to Russia a request for the extradition of Ayo, who several years ago escaped from an investigation in Riga. He was detained in the Arkhangelsk region. Then information appeared that the authorities of Arkhangelsk, at the request of Ukraine, want to extradite him to Ukraine as a terrorist.
Russian State Duma deputy from the Communist Party Dmitry Sarayev formally appealed to the prosecutor and the head of the department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Arkhangelsk region with a request to provide Benes Ayo with temporary political asylum.
“Benes Ayo is an active participant in the Anti-Maidan movement. And if transferred to Ukraine, there is a real threat to his life and health,” the Russian deputy said.
In the movement "For Truth," they said that thanks to a parliamentary request and public support, the police freed Aio. The decision of the Russian prosecutor’s office says that it’s not possible to conclude from the application submitted by the Latvian side that the alleged Aio actions are punishable under Russian law, and therefore “he cannot be detained for extradition and must be released."
Now Benes Ayo has already written an appeal to Russian President Vladimir Putin asking him to grant him political asylum in Russia.
